Episode 1309 - 5 July 2011

Shelly didn't even try to persuade Hannah to come to the gig with her, because she'd been trying to nag Hannah less lately and she'd decided to respect Hannah's decisions even if she thought they might be the wrong ones - at least for the time being. She didn't really want to go by herself, though, apart from anything else she thought it really might be a bit weird, so she asked Sacha to come with her. She knew that Sacha was good friends with Rona, too, as much as Hannah was - well, maybe not that much - so she assumed Rona's invitation was for Sacha as well. In fact, she realised, Rona had probably invited Sacha separately.

She hadn't, as it turned out, but Shelly was pleased to find that Sacha didn't need a great deal of persuading. When Shelly asked her if she wanted to come to the gig the next night, Sacha said: "It'll depend on how I'm feeling after work, I guess"; then the next night, when Shelly asked her how she was feeling and whether she wanted to come, Sacha said: "Sure, okay. Just let me lie down for half an hour."

While Sacha was lying down - Shelly let her have an hour, there were support bands and she was in no hurry to get to the gig too early - Shelly told Hannah that she was going, just in case Hannah had changed her mind, and also that Sacha was coming, too, just in case Hannah might feel that was weird. In a moment of clarity Shelly realised that the fact that she was worrying so much about what might be weird and what might not be weird must mean that she'd really fallen for Hannah, really fallen hard. She supposed it must be love.

Hannah said "That's cool, you guys have fun. Sacha needs to get out of the house, it'll be good for her."

Shelly wondered when, exactly, Sacha had become more out-going than Hannah. But she told herself that she had to respect Hannah's decision, and she told herself not to worry about it, because whatever else happened Hannah was Hannah and the more she thought about it the more she realised she really must be in love.
