"Everyone I know's getting lucky" Rona said as Matt massaged her shoulders. "It makes me so happy!"

"Really?" Matt replied, not really concentrating on what he was doing.

"You've gotta do it harder" Rona said. "Don't be scared. I'm tough, get into the muscles!"

"Like this?" Matt asked, leaning more heavily on Rona.

"Sort of."

"So tell me who's getting lucky" Matt said.

"Well, Alain apparently. I mean Mal says that's got to be what's happened. I mean I don't know if it's a regular thing or not, I've only seen him that once, but still."

"Okay."

"And Hannah's got a girlfriend!" Rona continued. "So that's totally awesome."

"Didn't she have a girlfriend before?" Matt asked.

"Yeah, right" Rona said sarcastically. "That doesn't count. Janine totally doesn't count in this."

"If you say so. Who else?"

"And . . . Brent's still with Catherine, I guess. And getting a bit on the side, I hear . . ."

"What?"

"Nothing, forget I said that." Rona reached up and took hold of Matt's hands, and turned around to face him. "Seriously, don't tell anyone that, all right? It's, like, a massive secret."

"Okay, don't worry about it. It's forgotten."

"Good." Rona let go of him and let him continue. "And I mean, yeah, sure, I don't actually like Catherine" she said, almost talking to herself rather than Matt, "but I guess Brent does, so that's something. You know?"

"What about Mal?" Matt asked.

"Pfft, I dunno. He's like a kid or something. I can't even imagine him with someone."

"That's what people always say about guys who -" Matt started, but then stopped himself.

"Who what?"

"Nothing" Matt said. "Don't worry." He kneaded the muscles over her shoulder-blades some more. He was just making it up as he went along, trying to remember what he'd seen other people doing. He'd only offered Rona a massage because it seemed like the thing to do. "And Sacha?" he asked.

Rona rolled her eyes. "Who fucking knows what's going on there. But I'm done interfering in that one's love-life, I can tell you that."

"That's probably a good idea" Matt said. "How's that?"
