Miranda didn't know much about gigs or music or being in a band, but she figured that if Eric was going to be playing a lot of gigs then he'd need to keep his strength up, and so because the café where she worked was closing down for a week to do some minor renovations she decided to take it upon herself to feed him properly, to keep him in good condition for all the gigs he'd be playing.

"Thanks" Eric said, with a tone of some bemusement, as Miranda placed two dishes on the table in front of him.

"Lots of carbs" Miranda said, lifting the lid off one of the dishes to reveal a bed of fried rice. "And protein" she added, lifting the lid off the other dish. "Fish curry."

"Great." Fish wasn't really one of Eric's favourites.

"Smells amazing, Miranda" Rona said.

Miranda cocked her head, just a little bit, the way she did when she was a bit uncomfortable about accepting a compliment. "It's not my recipe, I nicked it from the café. But I tinkered with it a bit."

"Improved it, I bet" Rona said.

"We'll see."

Rona turned to Eric. "I bet you never got looked after like this before a gig."

"No, never" Eric said.

Rona nodded to herself, but she was concerned: she hadn't seen Miranda look after anyone in this way before, not even Will. She hoped Miranda wasn't getting some kind of strange, hopeless crush on Eric. "I bet the others aren't getting looked after like this, either" Rona said.

"Probably not."

"You'll be able to play twice as many gigs as them!" Miranda grinned. She really didn't know what she was talking about, she didn't know anything about gigs or music or being in a band, but she just felt so great about being able to help.
